The excitement is palpable as the Sea to Sky Adventure Motorcycle Group gears up to host its highly anticipated 4th Annual June Jamboree Event. What started as a humble inaugural multi-day adventure ride back in 2021 has blossomed into an eagerly awaited gathering of motorcycle enthusiasts from far and wide. With each passing year, the event has grown in scale and popularity, attracting over 30 riders who are ready to embrace the thrill of exploration and camaraderie.
In its previous editions, the group embarked on exhilarating journeys starting from Hope/Princeton BC, venturing northward to Merritt where participants reveled in the beauty of the BC interior, traversing scenic and challenging Forest Service Roads. However, as the event evolved, so did the aspirations of its organizers. Thus, in a bold move for 2024, the decision was made to relocate the "base camp" from Merritt to the picturesque town of Lillooet BC.
This strategic shift serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it opens doors to the newly introduced "May Madness Event" in late May, which will now take place in Merritt, capitalizing on potentially drier weather conditions. Secondly, by moving westward to Lillooet for the June Jamboree, participants are presented with expanded opportunities to explore the captivating landscapes surrounding the Lillooet area.
The adventure kicks off in Deroche BC at a local Esso Station, where riders will gather before embarking on their journey. From there, the route will lead the group up the West Harrison, or alternatively over the East Harrison & Kookipi, depending on prevailing conditions and individual skill levels. Two exhilarating nights await the riders in Lillooet, where they will unwind amidst breathtaking scenery and share stories of the day's exploits.
As Sunday morning dawns, riders will be presented with a multitude of options and routes to journey back to their homes, each offering its own unique blend of thrills and sights. Whether it's retracing familiar paths or venturing into uncharted territories, one thing is certain – the 4th Annual June Jamboree promises to be an epic adventure that will leave participants with memories to last a lifetime.
